This intimate thatched lodge with its unique air
conditioned safari huts and signature stone capped roof tops, offers
all the comforts of a luxury lodge and is an undisturbed retreat where
you can regenerate your soul and tune into the sounds of nature. Canvas
drop blinds open up the safari huts and lounge areas to views of the
waterhole where monkeys come to play and antelope and zebra to quench
their thirst.

at home, while you slowly sip away on a refreshing drink. Indulge in
sheer relaxation as you unwind next to the pool overlooking the lush
bushveld before we usher you away on an exciting BIG 5 game drive where
you will be served delectable sundowners in the bush. An exclusive boat
cruise through the majestic Bushmans River will leave you in awe of our
magnificent scenery.
Amakhala Game Reserve is stocked with a great
variety of wild life including Elephant, Giraffe, Rhinos, Lions,
Leopard, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra and many other species. Guided day
and night time Game tours are available.
The Safari Lodge also
offers a
luxurious Wedding venue with ambiance, hospitality
and personal service. We cater for weddings up to 24 guests and offer
menus to suit your preferences.

A Land Steeped in History
Some five generations ago our families settled in the Eastern Cape
to farm sheep and cattle on the wild and often hostile frontier of the
Zuurveld. Today we still live here, in historic and hospitable Frontier
Country, recreating a wild life experience, which will capture your
imagination, refresh your soul and conserve our natural heritage.
